Kehinde and Angel's story

Kehinde Salami, aged 39, and eight-year-old daughter Angel, are supporting the campaign by sharing their sickle cell story.

Kehinde knows about the importance of well-matched blood after Angel was rushed into hospital when experiencing a crisis a few years ago.

“Angel felt just like her old self after her crisis because she received well-matched blood from a donor.

“To all Black Londoners out there, I say this: You could be that person that saves a child, teenager, a father, mother by your gift of blood.”
