National Blood Week is 10 - 16 June 2019

NHS Blood and Transplant has confirmed National Blood Week 2019 is from 10 - 16 June 2019.

NHSBT needs 400 people to register as new blood donors every day and we welcome interest from the press, public, and supporters.

We’ll be highlighting some of the key issues in blood donation – such as the urgent need for black blood donors, male blood donors, and O negative donors.

Blood donation saves lives but sometimes people take it for granted that the right blood will be there – we’ll be looking to showcase stories why new blood donors are urgently needed.

We’re especially targeting the towns and cities across the country which are home to one of our 23 blood donor centres.

NHS Blood and Transplant times National Blood Week around 14 June, which is World Blood Donor Day.
