Urgent blood donor appeal

We need your help now more than ever to keep providing lifesaving blood to the NHS.

We’ve issued an amber alert to hospitals restricting the use of O positive and O negative blood, as those blood groups are currently under the most pressure.

You can help in different ways depending on your blood type:

O negative and O positive

Stocks of your blood type are critically low.

Please book and keep your appointment to donate as soon as possible.

Please book and keep your appointment, even if it's a few weeks away - your donation will be just as valuable then.

There are 45,000 appointments still available to book between now and September, including appointments available across our town and city donor centres this week and next.

Our city centre venues have the most capacity and often have available appointments. If you can, try booking in:

• Birmingham

If you can't find an appointment

Please don’t worry if there are no spaces immediately near you. Blood is needed 24/7, 365 days a year so we need people to keep booking and donating in coming days, weeks and months.
