We need Black donors

16,000 more Black people are urgently needed to become donors and give blood to help provide treatment to the increasing number of people living with sickle cell.

People from similar ethnic backgrounds are more likely to have matching blood. But there are not enough Black donors and some people with sickle cell don’t always get the best matched blood.
