Our Lifelong Learning Strategy supports a ‘cradle to grave’ approach, giving ample opportunities for staff to access the Skills Escalator for Career Development. An intensive Induction programme will be followed by on the job skills training to give you the skills necessary to carry out your job role effectively. Supported by several training functions including Learning and Development, Scientific and Technical training, Nurse professional development, and Services to Donors, we support pre and post course registration programmes, NVQs, Leadership, accredited Management Development programmes, and other personal development programmes including HR policies and procedures, ‘soft skills’ including personal effectiveness, Certificate in Training Skills, time management etc. Non professional staff are encouraged to take up Individual Learning Accounts to engage in Learning, and funding may be offered for external course, conferences and qualifications.
