Where can I go to give blood?
Session search How to donate at work Student donors This session searcher will show you all sessions available to you in your area, please remember you can give blood every 16 weeks (that's about every four months). We suggest that you book an appointment to donate but we understand that some donors choose not to make an appointment. If you choose not to, we will continue to welcome you to the session and to take your donation as quickly as possible. Donors who have booked an appointment will usually be seen first. Use this website to book an appointment, or fill in the online form for more information. Or you can call us on: 0845 7 711 711 Every day new medical treatments are being developed and more operations are being carried out. So not surprisingly, we constantly need donations for these vital procedures. About 2.1 million a year, to be exact. And it's not as if it's a difficult thing to do. When you show up, we'll ask a few questions about your health and lifestyle (just to make sure you haven't been exposed to anything infectious). We'll take a drop of blood from your finger to make sure you're not anaemic. And then we'll take your blood donation which is just under a pint. This should take about 10 minutes. And most people don't feel a thing. Apart from a terrific sense of well-being that they've helped save a life, that is. View Current Blood Stocks Jonathan's story |
