Accessibility
To access the plasma donor centre via the main entrance at 61 New Street, there is a single step from street level into the entrance. For completely level access, please use the blood donation centre entrance instead, located at 65 New Street. Once inside the building, you can access the plasma donor centre on the first floor.
Both entrances are accessed via intercom. Please ring the buzzer to be granted access.

Travelling to the donor centre
If you are travelling by train, the centre is less than a five minute walk from New Street Station.
If you are travelling by bike, there are bike racks located in the pedestrianised street outside the donor centre, but please be aware that this is not a secure bike parking facility.
If you are travelling by car, please be aware that the donor centre is on a pedestrianised street.
Donors can park for free for 2 hours at the NCP New Street Car park on St Jude's Passage, B5 4AN (behind the Alexander Theatre). There is a 1.88m height restriction for this car park. Please bring your parking ticket to the donor centre and show it to a member of the team.
The car park is in Birmingham’s Clean Air Zone – you may have to pay to drive inside this. Check if you need to pay to drive in the Birmingham Clean Air Zone.
Opening hours
The first and last appointments of the day will be within the opening hours. Please only visit the donor centre if you have an appointment booked, and arrive at your appointment time. We are unable to provide walk-in appointments.
The donor centre is open on weekdays, evenings and weekends, as follows:
- Monday - 9am to 4.30pm
- Tuesday - midday to 7.30pm
- Wednesday - 10am to 5.30pm
- Thursday - 1pm to 8.30pm
- Friday - 10am to 5.30pm
- Saturday - 8am to 3.30pm
- Sunday - Closed
