Accessibility

The building has wheelchair access to the ground floor donation area. There are more donation chairs on the 1st floor which is not accessible by wheelchair.

Travelling to the donor centre

If you are travelling by:

  • tube: Oxford Circus underground station on the Victoria, Bakerloo and Central lines is less than a 5 minute walk from the donor centre.
  • bus: Oxford Street and the surrounding area is serviced by a number of bus routes.
  • bike: there is no bike storage at the centre, however Margaret Street has plenty of bike parking. Please be aware that this is not a secure bike parking facility.
  • car: there is no car parking at the centre and parking in the area is limited, so public transport is recommended.

The donor centre is split over 2 floors that have different opening times. Both are open on weekdays, evenings and weekends.

Ground floor

  • Monday - 10:20am to 7:10pm
  • Tuesday - 10:20am to 7:10pm
  • Wednesday - 8:20am to 5:10pm
  • Thursday - 10:20am to 7:10pm
  • Friday - 8:20am to 5:10pm
  • Saturday - 8:20am to 5:10pm
  • Sunday - 8:20am to 5:10pm

First floor

  • Monday - 8:30am to 5:10pm
  • Tuesday - 8:30am to 5:10pm
  • Wednesday - 10:30am to 7:10pm
  • Thursday - 8:30am to 5:10pm
  • Friday - 10:30am to 7:10pm
  • Saturday - 8:30am to 5:10pm

What you can donate

Blood

An appointment to give blood takes an hour, with the donation taking around 5-10 minutes.

Your blood could help someone in an emergency, help save the lives of mothers and babies during childbirth, or help to fight sickle cell.

An appointment to give platelets takes around 2 hours, with the donation taking up to 90 minutes.
